Dr. Katner is an Assistant Professor of Environmental and Occupational Health Sciences in the School of Public Health at Louisiana State University Health (LSU) in New Orleans, Louisiana. Dr. Katner’s research is aimed at identifying community water problems in both urban and rural areas, and evaluating policies and interventions to improve water quality and reduce contaminant exposures. Dr. Katner has used her research to propel policy changes and government action, increase community awareness and motivate proactive health behaviors. Dr. Katner completed her B.A. at UC Santa Cruz, MS at U of Arizona, pre-doctoral training at NIH, and received her D.Env. at UCLA in 2011. Prior to joining LSU in 2014 she worked for the Louisiana Office of Public Health.
