Cynthia O. Keeton is a Environmental Health Specialist and EPA Certified Risk Assessor. On April 30, 2020, Cynthia retired from Hillsborough County Health Department after 26 years as the first Childhood Lead Poisoning Prevention Program Coordinator. Cynthia knew that this job needed more people involve to help Lead poison children. in 1999 Cynthia presented the Round Table Talk on Childhood Lead in Hillsborough County. 102 attendees from various local county agencies, public school administrators, USF College Of Public Health Professors, Environmental Risk Assessors, Abatement Contractors and parents with Lead burden children was in attendance. From this group 50 attendees join the the Community Partners Against Lead (CPAL). Cynthia develop a Children interactive program called I know where Lead is Hiding. Over 15,000 Junior Lead Detectives children was trained to spread the word to parents and family that Lead hurts kids and that Lead is poison. Awarded the Lead Star Award for the Community Partners Against Lead Partnership and the Children Interactive Program "I know Where Lead Is Hiding". Cynthia met with Pediatric Providers to increase Blood Lead testing. Cynthia enjoys reading and singing to children.
