Dr. Darren Lytle Dr. Darren A. Lytle is an environmental engineer at the U.S.EPA and is well known for providing technical support to water professionals and resolving drinking water concerns. To date, his technical expertise has provided support to the preservation of human health in more than 150 communities globally. With over thirty years’ experience at EPA, researching the quality of drinking water, he is an expert in addressing issues involving drinking water treatment and distribution systems and premise plumbing. Currently, Dr. Lytle co-leads the scientific research efforts for lead characterization and mitigation. His dedicated commitment to protecting the public’s health accounts for accomplishing numerous technology and research awards, including the successful invention of 3 water quality-related patents and publications of over a hundred peer-reviewed manuscripts. Dr. Lytle received his doctorate and master’s degree in environmental engineering from the University of Illinois in 2005 and the University of Cincinnati in 1991, respectively, and a bachelor’s degree in civil engineering from the University of Akron in 1990.
